Long before modern softboards and performance bodyboards, surfers were already experimenting with inflatable craft. Surf mats appeared in Australia in the 1930s and quickly earned a reputation for being light, fast and unexpectedly capable.

What makes a surf mat different is the feeling. It is not about brute force or rigid control. A mat bends, trims and flows with the wave, creating speed through flex, glide and subtle body input. In the right hands it feels loose, alive and seriously quick.
